Datarails vs FloQast Head-to-Head: 7 Categories
We scored both tools on the seven areas finance teams ask about most.
1. Close task management
Both offer a central close checklist with owners, deadlines and completion tracking. For FloQast, the checklist, projects and accounting operations are the core of the product, paired with AI agents that run recurring steps. Datarails offers customizable, step-based checklists in its Month-End Close module. We think FloQast likely fits teams whose main job is running the close.
2. Reconciliations and matching
Datarails says its reconciliation module automates reconciliation prep, matches transactions automatically and flags exceptions. FloQast offers account reconciliations, automated reconciliations for amortization, depreciation and subledgers, and AI matching that it says handles three-way matching. We think FloQast offers more depth for controller-led reconciliation work.
3. Journal entries and controls
FloQast lists journal entry management and posting in Close AI, plus a Risk & Compliance suite for SOX scoping, controls, testing and audit readiness. Datarails’ Month-End Close page does not list journal entry management or SOX controls as of October 2026; it lists supporting documents with an audit log and sign-offs. SOX-regulated teams will likely prefer FloQast here.

FloQast’s website does not list consolidation or intercompany modules as of October 2026. Groups with several entities will likely prefer Datarails here.
5. FP&A, budgeting and reporting
This is Datarails’ home turf. Its Excel-native FP&A product covers budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling and real-time dashboards. 6. ERP integrations
Datarails claims 600+ integrations, including NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Xero, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP and Acumatica. FloQast lists NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, Microsoft, Sage Intacct, Xero, QuickBooks and Yardi. Both cover the major mid-market ERPs, so check your exact ERP and edition with each vendor.
